In a new Onet investigation, the sister of Tadeusz D. speaks about her brother, who was accused of the 1999 murder of sports minister Jacek Dębski. The woman claims that her brother died in prison rather than committing suicide.

In 1999, a shot was fired outside a Warsaw pub called Cosa Nostra. A member of Jerzy Buzek's government was killed – sports minister Jacek Dębski. The murder turned out to be connected to the activities of an organised criminal group. Among those accused in the case was Tadeusz D., who died in custody.
In a new audio investigation published by Onet, his sister presents her own version of events. The woman claims that her brother did not commit suicide, but was murdered in his cell. She also recalls the dramatic moment when she attempted to reach him, and customs officers aimed their weapons at her, shouting "stop or I will shoot".
According to his sister's account, Tadeusz D. warned her before his death that she might hear many uncomfortable things about him. He allegedly asked her to remember that he loved her, regardless of what she might hear.
The investigation also covers the mysterious woman with the pseudonym Inka, who was said to have had an affair with the murdered minister. It was established that Inka had been planted by the mafia. The shot was fired by a contract killer with the pseudonym Sasza.
The case of Jacek Dębski's murder is among the most high-profile political murders in the history of the Third Polish Republic. The investigation revealed connections between the world of politics and organised crime.
