Attorney Luis Quiñones González shot dead in Ponce whilst driving
Licenciado Luis Quiñones González was shot on PR-12 in Ponce on Friday morning. Police are investigating the crime and searching for a suspect.
Defence attorney shot dead on PR-12 highway in Ponce
According to telemundopr.com, licenciado Luis Quiñones González was shot dead at approximately 10:45 in the morning on Friday on the PR-12 highway, at the height of Avenida Las Américas, in Ponce.
The attorney was leaving court in a white Dodge Ram van when hitmen attacked him. The vehicle subsequently crashed against a pole. His wife, who was travelling behind in another car, transported him to Dr. Pila hospital, where his death was certified.
Police are investigating a video circulated on social media in which a man claimed responsibility for the murder of Quiñones González and another person. The authorities confirmed that they have identified a suspect and that they are searching for him.
Quiñones González was the defence attorney for Ana Inés Napoleoni, convicted of the murder of military officer Jancarlo Rivera Lugo in November 2022 in the El Tuque neighbourhood, in Ponce.
