Three weapons recovered from rooftop of Lisbon social housing estate after shooting
The PSP seized three pistols from the rooftop of a building in the Alfredo Bensaúde social housing estate in Olivais, Lisbon, in the early hours of Wednesday. Among the weapons was a Glock 19, 9 mm calibre — a model identical to that used by security forces — and two further pistols of 6.35 mm calibre. The case is being investigated by the Judicial Police, which is seeking to establish whether there is a connection to a second shooting recorded hours earlier in Amadora.
According to Correio da Manhã, PSP patrols were called at 05h00 to Rua Costa Malheiro after residents reported physical confrontations and gunfire. At the scene, officers found at least 15 bullet marks on the facade of a building, but identified none of those involved and detected no victims. The three weapons were found on the terrace of the same property.
An official PSP source confirmed to CM that six men were seen in physical confrontation at the location. The shots were reported by residents of the area, but officers found no injured persons when they arrived at Rua Costa Malheiro.
Earlier incident in Falagueira, Amadora
The PJ is also analysing an occurrence recorded on the night of Tuesday at 23h00 on Rua Joaquim Luís in Falagueira, Amadora municipality. Several shots fired from a motor vehicle struck the window panes of an apartment on the second floor of a building. In this case too there was no report of injuries.
Judicial Police investigators are working to establish a possible connection between the two incidents, which occurred a few hours apart in social housing estates in Greater Lisbon.
