GNR operation in Mafra results in seizure of 100 fake products and one arrest
The GNR arrested a man on Tuesday during a law enforcement operation at Feira de Todos os Santos, in Livramento, Mafra municipality, on suspicion of selling counterfeit items, according to CNN Portugal.
The operation resulted in the seizure of 100 products that were on display for sale, featuring references to recognised clothing brands, fashion accessories and football clubs. Among the confiscated items were jackets, sweatshirts, bags and wallets bearing symbols of brands such as Adidas, Puma, Guess, Yves Saint Laurent, Prada, Zadig & Voltaire and Lacoste, as well as the clubs Benfica and Sporting.
The estimated value of the seized merchandise is around one thousand euros. If the products were genuine, equivalent items could be worth several thousand euros.
The person responsible for the display and sale of the items was constituted as an arguido. The facts were referred to the Judicial Court of the Comarca of West Lisbon, in Mafra.
