Man detained in Lisbon for hundreds of sexual crimes against underage stepdaughter
The Judicial Police detained a man in Lisbon on suspicion of more than a hundred aggravated sexual abuse and sexual coercion crimes against his stepdaughter, aged 12, CNN Portugal reported.
According to the PJ, the facts are believed to have occurred in Loures and Lisbon, within the context of a family relationship established by the suspect with the child's mother. The abuses are believed to have begun when the minor was only four years old.
The investigation, according to a statement from the PJ, "made it possible to establish a pattern of psychological violence and coercive behaviour associated with the sexual practices in question". The suspect used encrypted digital platforms to contact the victim and exert pressure on her.
The situation was revealed by the child during psychological support sessions, with the psychologist informing the mother of the facts.
Brought before the first judicial interrogation at Lisbon Court, the detainee was remanded in custody.
