A Brazilian woman, 18 years old, is suspected of stabbing Ney Lirmann, 59, to death in Alhos Vedros, in the municipality of Moita. According to Correio da Manhã, the suspect herself admitted to having reacted violently upon seeing the victim completely naked when she went to the residence to discuss renting a room.
The Judicial Police of Setúbal brought the young woman before a judge for an initial interrogation at the Barreiro Court on Monday. Authorities had already ruled out attempted sexual abuse as a motive for the crime.
The explanation presented by the suspect is that the sight of the prospective landlord naked led her to a violent reaction, which resulted in 22 stab wounds inflicted on Lirmann. The victim had a habit of walking around naked inside the home.
Investigators from the Judicial Police of Setúbal followed the case from the beginning, having gathered sufficient evidence to present the young woman to the investigating judge in Barreiro. The investigation continues under the direction of the Public Prosecutor's Office.
