The Judicial Police detained a 39-year-old man whilst he attempted to recover cocaine buried in a pine forest area in Ribas, Figueira da Foz.

The Judicial Police (PJ) detained a 39-year-old man whilst he attempted to recover 800 grams of cocaine that he had hidden in a pine forest area in Ribas, in the municipality of Figueira da Foz, according to rr.pt.
The detention was carried out by the Central Division of the PJ, in accordance with a warrant issued by the DIAP of Figueira da Foz. Inspectors approached the suspect whilst he was excavating the location with a trowel. The man offered violent resistance and attempted to flee the scene.
The operation resulted in the seizure of approximately 800 grams of cocaine, packaged in 53 hermetically sealed bags, 865 euros in cash, two vehicles and a set of evidence items which includes telecommunications equipment.
The detainee is charged with the crimes of drug trafficking, resistance and coercion of a public official, and assault. He will be brought before the judicial authority for his first judicial interrogation and the application of precautionary measures.
