On Monday, law enforcement officers are simultaneously carrying out 154 raids in the capital and in several counties across the country as part of a large-scale operation called Operation JUPITER. The objective is aimed at dismantling specialised criminal networks involved in various types of offences.
Investigators are examining cases of economic fraud, illegal tree felling, fraud, theft, sexual abuse, as well as violations of legislation concerning the possession and use of firearms and ammunition.
The total damage estimated in the cases targeted by this operation amounts to over 11.74 million lei.
The operation is coordinated by prosecutors and involves significant police resources, with evidence to be gathered and those responsible to be identified following the searches.
