Five arrests following discovery of 83 kilos of suspected cocaine in two vehicles
The Arrest Team (AT) apprehended five persons on Tuesday, 2 June 2026 at two separate locations in Paramaribo, according to police.sr. The suspects were in two separate vehicles.
During a search of the vehicles, investigators discovered an amount of suspected cocaine with a gross weight of 82.86 kilograms. Both the drugs and the vehicles were seized in the interest of the investigation.
The five suspects were handed over to the Narcotics Brigade for further processing. Following consultation with the Public Prosecution Service, they were remanded in custody pending the investigation.
