A man was sentenced to two years in prison after being intercepted by police with prohibited substances and cash.

An individual received a two-year prison sentence after being apprehended by officers whilst patrolling an area of Montevideo, according to a report by the Interior Ministry on GUB.UY.
The uniformed officers noticed strange behaviour in a subject during their surveillance rounds. They decided to approach him and conduct a search of his belongings.
During the search, the officers found two packets containing white material, a spoon with traces of the same substance and a rucksack containing 957 Uruguayan pesos.
The apprehended individual was taken to the police station and remanded to the judicial system. Following the hearing, he was found responsible for the offence of supplying illegal substances for profit, and was sentenced to 24 months of imprisonment.
