Officers from the Dangerous Drugs Division intercepted a vehicle with two occupants at the southern access points to Concordia and found almost three kilogrammes of cocaine and approximately five kilogrammes of cannabis in the boot.

On the morning of this Friday, police officers in Concordia managed to seize a significant quantity of illicit substances after intercepting a car in a routine operation. The information was provided by Diario Río Uruguay.
The procedure took place around 06:30 on Avenida Presidente Perón, in the Industrial Park area, at the southern access points to the locality. Specialised personnel from the Dangerous Drugs Division, acting alongside other units from the Departmental Headquarters, intercepted a vehicle travelling with two adult passengers. The occupants had departed from Escobar, in the province of Buenos Aires, the neighbouring country on the Argentine side.
Upon inspecting the car, the officers requested the intervention of sniffer dog "Mali", who indicated the rear compartment of the vehicle. Several packages of drugs were found there: four compact pieces of cocaine weighing 2.95 kilogrammes, and six rectangular blocks of cannabis totalling 4.8 kilogrammes.
Along with the narcotics, a Volkswagen car was seized. As a result of the operation, an Argentine man and a Paraguayan woman were arrested.
The judicial intervention was supervised directly by the federal magistrate of Concordia, pursuant to article 230 bis of the procedural code.
