A 27-year-old man was arrested after committing a robbery at a supermarket, according to information provided by Uruguay's Interior Ministry on GUB.UY.
After receiving an alert about the crime, police officers scoured the area and located the alleged perpetrator in the vicinity of the location, proceeding with his arrest.
During the search, officers seized 61 boxes of cigarettes of various brands, 8,977 Uruguayan pesos in cash and various items of clothing.
Later, at the intersection of Camino Anaya and Mauricio Llamas, under a bridge, police found and confiscated clothing that is believed to have been used during the assault, along with a firearm replica.
The detainee, identified as E. N. A. M., has a prior criminal history.
The case was placed in the hands of the Flagrant Offence Prosecutor's Office of the 5th shift, which ordered the corresponding investigations.
