The Uruguayan prosecutor's office requested statements and the disarming of police officers who participated in a search operation during which a teenager lost his life, according to Subrayado.
The incident occurred as part of a police procedure involving officers who carried out the search. Following the incident, and in accordance with the protocol in force in such cases, the Public Ministry ordered that the uniformed officers involved provide statements about the events that occurred.
Likewise, as part of the standard measure applied when a minor is fatally wounded in the presence of law enforcement, a provisional disarming of the police officers present during the operation was ordered.
