A man received an eighteen-month sentence following a series of offences committed on Friday in the Uruguayan capital. The individual took a vehicle in the Colón neighbourhood and, after being located by officers, fled in a manner that ended with a collision against a police vehicle in the Los Bulevares area.
The stolen car ended up in a ditch. The assailant abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. Moments later, an officer apprehended him whilst he was attempting to enter a residence to evade law enforcement.
The case was resolved through a summary proceeding before the Judiciary, which set the sentence at one and a half years in prison.
