A violent Monday night and Tuesday early morning left three people dead from gunshot wounds in two neighbourhoods of the Uruguayan capital.
The first incident occurred in Lavalleja Sur, at the intersection of Ignacio Pedralbes and Cayetano Moretti. Two brothers, aged 28 and 35, were shot. Passers-by found them lying in the street and transported them by their own means to a nearby medical facility. Minutes after being admitted, both lost their lives due to the injuries sustained. The older brother had six previous criminal convictions on his record; the younger had eight.
In the morning hours of this Tuesday, a second incident was recorded in Pérez Castellanos. At the crossing of Rafael Eguren and Jacobo Varela, a 38-year-old man was struck by firearm projectiles and died on the spot. This man had accumulated eleven previous criminal charges.
The Homicide Department and the Public Prosecutor's Office are carrying out the investigation. There are no detainees at present.
