DNA confirms Pigeon Point Beach remains belong to missing Schneik Phillip

Nearly three years after Schneik Phillip was reported missing, DNA testing has identified her remains found at Pigeon Point Beach in 2024. Police say investigations are ongoing.

DNA identifies remains of Schneik Phillip, missing since 2023

DNA testing has confirmed that human remains found at Pigeon Point Beach in Gros Islet in August 2024 belong to Schneik Phillip, a 33-year-old woman who had been reported missing since November 2023, St Lucia Times reports.

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) announced the identification on Wednesday, following receipt of the DNA analysis results.

Phillip was first reported missing to the Babonneau Police Station in November 2023. On 1 August 2024, officers responded to the vicinity of Pigeon Point Beach after human remains were discovered in the area. The remains were recovered and submitted for forensic DNA testing to establish the identity of the deceased.

Investigators received the DNA results on 11 September, confirming the remains as those of Phillip.

Police have not disclosed the circumstances surrounding her disappearance or death. Investigations remain ongoing.

The RSLPF has extended condolences to Phillip's family and loved ones. Authorities are appealing to anyone with information that could assist investigators to come forward.
