Guilty plea at Leeds Crown Court as wife's body discovered in freezer
A West Yorkshire man pleaded guilty to murdering his wife on the day his trial was due to begin, radioroyal.org reports.
David Barraclough, 45, of Ken Churchill Drive in Horbury, appeared at Leeds Crown Court on Tuesday facing a charge of murder. Rather than proceed to trial, Barraclough entered a guilty plea.
His wife, Carolann Barraclough, 37, was found dead inside a freezer at the couple's home in March, after police attended following a concern for safety report.
Judge Andrew Stubbs said the case would be listed for a further hearing on Wednesday, at which a sentencing date would be set.
Barraclough has been remanded in custody pending sentencing.
