Fourteenth guilty plea in Stockport rape case involving drugged victim

Graham Brougham, 74, has pleaded guilty to raping a woman who was sedated and abused by her husband without her knowledge for more than 20 years, BBC News reports.

Brougham, from Northwich, is the oldest of 13 men charged with sexual offences against the victim after allegedly being invited into her home in the Stockport area of Greater Manchester by her husband.

The husband, now in his sixties, has already admitted 62 offences against his wife — including rape — and has provided a witness statement detailing, in his own account, what took place over that period.

A judge at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court told Brougham he "should be under no illusion his sentence will be custody and a long time in custody."

The case involves allegations that the husband invited multiple men to the family home to abuse his wife while she was drugged and unaware. In total, 13 other men face charges of sexual offences connected to the abuse.
