A man who fled the UK following one of the country's largest cocaine seizures has been sentenced at the Old Bailey, bbc.co.uk reports.
Craig-Le-Mare, 36, of no fixed address, was arrested at Gatwick Airport in January 2025 and became the third person convicted over the operation. He was sentenced on Wednesday.
Police discovered packages of cocaine in the back of a lorry parked in a lay-by near Northampton in November 2021. The shipment, valued at approximately £80m, had been sealed before the lorry left Mexico. Three individuals were then tracked from the Port of Felixstowe in Suffolk.
Body camera footage released by police also captures the arrest of Kelly Robertson, 46, from Watford, who was detained in December 2023 — one of the other two convicted in connection with the same drugs haul.
