Armed disorder and car crash in Coventry leaves two men injured

Two men were taken to hospital with potentially serious injuries after a crash and fight involving weapons in Wyken, Coventry, in the early hours of Friday 6 March, kentlive.news reports.

West Midlands Police were called at around 3.55am to the junction of Sewell Highway and Ansty Road, where two cars had collided before a fight broke out. Officers said the injuries sustained by both men are not believed to be life-threatening.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "We received a report of a collision involving two cars and then fighting with weapons near the junction of Sewell Highway and Ansty Road at around 3.55am. Two men were taken to hospital with injuries which are thankfully not believed to be life-threatening."

The ambulance service, which sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance Critical Care Car to the scene, described the injuries differently. A spokesman said the two patients had "also been assaulted following the road traffic collision" and were treated for "potentially serious injuries" before being taken to hospital for further assessment.

Police said one of the two vehicles involved — described as a white Kia Sorento — sustained damage and left the scene before officers arrived. Investigators are now attempting to locate that car.

"We're in the early stages of our investigation to establish exactly what has happened and who was involved," the police spokesman said. "A scene is currently in place while our enquiries continue and we remain keen to hear from anyone with information. We're particularly interested in any dashcam footage."

Anyone with information can contact West Midlands Police via live chat on their website, or by calling 101, quoting log 355 of 6/3/26.
