Eight-month-old Angel Novalty Carrasco-Ramirez is in dire condition after she and her mother were pushed from a Bronx balcony. A vigil drew 200 mourners Saturday.

Infant hospitalized, father charged with murder after fatal Bronx balcony plunge
Eight-month-old Angel Novalty Carrasco-Ramirez has taken a turn for the worse and is now in dire condition at Cohen Children's Medical Center in Queens, NY Post Metro reports. The infant initially survived a 15-story fall from a Bronx building on Tuesday — a fall that killed her mother, 23-year-old Nathaly Ramirez.
"They are keeping their fingers crossed," a hospital insider told The Post. "She is not doing well."
Angel Novalty was first brought to Jacobi Hospital after the incident before being transferred to the Queens facility. Her father, Angel Carrasco, 31 — identified as Ramirez's ex-boyfriend — allegedly pushed the two from the balcony before fleeing the scene. US Marshals and NYPD officers arrested him Wednesday. Carrasco was taken to Jacobi for a medical evaluation and now faces murder and attempted murder charges; his arraignment remains pending.
Around 200 people gathered Saturday evening for a vigil outside the building where the tragedy occurred. The gathering was organized by We All Really Matter (WARM), a nonprofit that helps cover funeral costs for domestic violence victims. Purple and white balloons, along with heart-shaped candles, adorned the site as attendees chanted "Justice for Nataly" and "Long live Nataly."
Ramirez's mother, who also goes by Nathaly, addressed the crowd and thanked everyone for attending. "She loved honestly," she said of her daughter. "She hugged with a tenderness that only had peace." She also noted that Ramirez "helped mistreated women, and men."
Photos of other domestic violence victims were displayed nearby, including one of Lovay Williams, found beaten to death in her Washington Heights apartment on September 6. Tiliek Shamel Thompson, 41, has been charged with murder, strangulation, assault, and child abandonment in connection with Williams's death; he has pleaded not guilty.
Brianna Rios, a domestic violence survivor who said Ramirez had once consoled her, addressed the vigil directly. "Natalie, unfortunately, is being added onto this very long list of beautiful faces and names," Rios said.
Rios also pressed for systemic change. "The police were called to Nathaly's home over five times," the 24-year-old told the crowd. "The killer of Nathaly Ramirez was arrested two times — once for slapping her, the second time for breaking and entering into her home. Not only was he able to get next to her again, he was able to kill her."
She called on those present to push for stronger protections for families, children, and women facing domestic violence.
