One person was killed in a shooting aboard a Green Line light rail train in Minneapolis on Saturday evening, cbsnews.com reports. The suspect fled the scene and had not been arrested as of the latest update.

Officers were dispatched at around 9 p.m. after reports of a shooting on the train, which was travelling from the Stadium Village station towards St. Paul. The train stopped at Westgate station, near the junction of University Avenue and Curfew Street.

Responding officers found an adult victim with at least one gunshot wound. Life-saving measures were performed at the scene, but the person died there.

Police say the suspect "reportedly exited the train shortly after the shooting." Investigators are working to establish what led to the incident.

No arrests have been made. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact police or CrimeStoppers.
