Man drops tub containing dismembered torso at Smyrna apartment complex

An 18-year-old man has been arrested in Smyrna, Georgia after a dismembered female torso fell from a plastic tub at an apartment complex, abcnews4.com reports.

The Smyrna Police Department identified the suspect as Kingston Bradley. Officers had initially responded to a missing-person call at the complex at around 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday before making the discovery.

According to reporting by WAGA-TV, Bradley was seen carrying a plastic container through an open walkway area between 8 p.m. and 8:28 p.m. A witness told investigators that the tub was dropped onto a dirt path and that Bradley then fled toward his nearby unit after apparently noticing he had been seen.

Officers arriving at the scene determined that the object which had fallen from the container was the dismembered torso of an unidentified woman. The identity of the victim remains unknown, and authorities have described the matter as an ongoing missing-person investigation.

Upon entering Bradley's unit, investigators reportedly found a bloody saw and detected a bleach odour inside.

Bradley was arrested and charged in connection with the discovery. The New York Post reported the specific charges filed against him. Separately, WAGA noted that Bradley was already facing charges of battery and terroristic threats in an unrelated case in Cobb County, Georgia.

The identity of the woman has not yet been established, and authorities say the investigation remains active.
