Kingston Man Convicted on Two Rape Counts After 2023 House Party Attack

A 22-year-old Kingston man has been found guilty of raping a woman at his home during a house party in August 2023, wbsm.com reports.

Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz announced that Jason M. Webb was convicted in Plymouth Superior Court on two counts of rape and one count of indecent assault and battery. A jury acquitted him on two additional counts of indecent assault and battery after deliberating for eight and a half hours across a three-day trial.

The case began on August 26, 2023, when Plymouth Police were contacted by South Shore Hospital after a female patient reported a sexual assault. Investigators from Plymouth Police and Kingston Police determined the victim had been raped at Webb's Kingston residence in the early morning hours of that date.

Following the verdict, prosecutors asked the court to revoke Webb's bail and order him to have no contact with the victim and to wear a GPS monitoring bracelet. Judge Ira L. Gant instead released Webb on personal recognizance pending sentencing, which is scheduled for November 17.

Webb faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison on each rape count and up to five years on the indecent assault and battery charge.
