Shooting on Appleton's south side leaves multiple people injured

Fox11online.com reports that Appleton police confirmed multiple victims sustained injuries from what appears to be a firearm in a south side neighbourhood on Friday evening.

Officers were called to the 3400 block of S. Hemlock Ln. at around 8 p.m. — an area just off Midway Rd., near the Appleton-Menasha boundary behind Festival Foods.

At a brief news conference Friday night, Captain Megan Cash said it would take several hours to process the scene. Police were unable to provide updates on the victims' conditions at that point.

No one was in custody as of the press conference. When asked whether the suspect may be among those injured, Cash declined to elaborate.

Authorities are asking the public to avoid the area while the scene is being processed.
