A 31-year-old man from Troy, Michigan was arrested after allegedly driving nearly three times the speed limit while intoxicated, clickondetroit.com reports.
Officers stopped the driver near E Maple and Rochester roads at around 12:30 a.m. on 22 September. He was behind the wheel of a 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E, travelling at 108 mph in a 40 mph zone.
During the traffic stop, police observed an open beer can in the driver's-side door. The man was taken into custody and transported to jail.
While being interviewed, he allegedly admitted to consuming alcohol before driving and consented to sobriety tests, which he performed poorly on. A subsequent breath test returned a blood alcohol content reading of .202% — more than twice Michigan's legal limit of 0.08%.
He was issued citations for operating a vehicle with a BAC of .17% or higher, reckless driving, and possession of open intoxicants in a vehicle.
