Four shot dead in Green Hill, St Vincent — quadruple killing under investigation

Four people were shot and killed in the Green Hill area of St Vincent late on Friday night, jamaica-gleaner.com reports. Among the dead was Steve King, 22, the son of businessman Stephen King, who was himself gunned down on the patio of his home in May 2025 at the age of 76.

Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police responsible for crime fighting, Brenton Smith, confirmed the deaths. Multiple reliable sources identified the other three victims as Antonio Samuel, 30, and Shaqueil Peters, 26, both from Green Hill, and Shevon Chandler, 23, of Paul's Avenue. Police have not officially released the names of the deceased.

"The Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force can confirm that it appears that four persons were killed as a result of a shooting incident in the Green Hill area," Smith said, adding that the incident occurred "not too far from the hard court."

Police were notified of the shooting at around 10:30 p.m. Smith spoke to the media just after midnight on Friday, September 25, with members of the Crime Investigation Unit still processing the scene.

Four additional victims were taken to hospital with what appeared to be gunshot wounds. A 20-year-old woman sustained injuries to her right hand. A 17-year-old male student was wounded in his right arm, right leg and left hand. A 28-year-old man received injuries to his right arm, while a 16-year-old mechanic suffered wounds to his left thigh, right forearm and left hand. All four are reported to be in stable condition.

Smith acknowledged the investigation was ongoing at the time he spoke, noting the constraints on information available. "So you can understand the difficulties," he said.
