The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force said officers arrived at the scene shortly before 10:30 p.m. after reports of gunfire. Four people died of apparent gunshot wounds. Four others were injured, two of whom remained hospitalised as of Sunday, 27 September.

Acting Police Commissioner Trevor Bailey told a press conference on Saturday that two bodies were found lying on the public road. A third victim — a woman — was discovered in a vehicle parked along the same road, while a fourth body was found on an adjacent piece of land.

Police are searching for suspects and have increased patrols in the area while working to establish a motive. Authorities are also examining whether a fifth homicide reported on Saturday is connected to the Green Hill attack. The identities and hometowns of the victims have not yet been released.

St. Vincent and the Grenadines is a small, English-speaking island nation in the eastern Caribbean, situated south of St. Lucia and north of Grenada. It has a population of around 110,000 and comprises 32 islands and cays, including the exclusive private island of Mustique.

The country relies heavily on tourism, with destinations such as Mustique, Bequia, Canouan, and Union Island drawing visitors for sailing, diving, beaches, and upscale resorts. The shooting has cast a shadow over a nation known for high-end, tranquil travel.

Minister of National Security St. Clair Leacock described the increase in homicides as a "serious nightmare," according to ABC News. The country has recorded 37 homicides so far this year.
