St. Thomas Murder Suspect Arrested by U.S. Marshals in Orange County, Florida

Fugitive Held in Florida Pending Extradition to Virgin Islands

A St. Thomas man wanted in connection with a June murder has been taken into custody in Florida, stthomassource.com reported Tuesday.

Jah'Sheem Graham, 23, was arrested Monday in Orange County by the U.S. Marshals Florida/Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force. He is wanted by the Virgin Islands Police Department (VIPD) on charges of aiding and abetting first-degree murder in the June 16 killing of Asani Henry, also 23.

Graham and a second suspect are accused of shooting Henry in the Hospital Ground area of St. Thomas. Henry was found unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds on the afternoon of June 16, after a concerned citizen called 911 to report shots fired in the area. Graham fled the territory two days later, on June 18.

The VIPD requested assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service last week. VIPD detectives and USMS investigators in the district of the Virgin Islands subsequently identified a possible location for Graham in Orlando, Florida. On Monday, the task force and the Orange County Sheriff's Office felony team located him in front of an apartment building in Orange County and took him into custody without incident.

Graham is currently being held in Florida awaiting extradition to the Virgin Islands.

Henry's death was recorded as the ninth homicide of the year on St. Thomas and the 20th for the territory overall, according to the Source Homicide List, a chronological log of homicides in the U.S. Virgin Islands as reported by the VIPD.
