Fatal Friars Hill Road crash trial for Karim Edwards pushed to December 8
The trial of Karim Edwards, charged over a 2022 crash that killed a medical student, has been postponed again and is now set for December 8.

Edwards trial delayed again as Friars Hill Road death case passes four-year mark
Karim Edwards, charged with causing the death of medical student Kenneth Mathew in a collision on Friars Hill Road, will now stand trial on December 8 — another postponement in a case that has already stretched more than four years, antigua.news reports.
The trial had been scheduled to begin last week but was delayed because a separate matter was still before the court. The new date was confirmed during proceedings yesterday.
Edwards faces two charges: causing death by reckless driving and reckless driving. Both stem from the October 23, 2022 collision. He pleaded not guilty to both counts in February.
Mathew, a medical student, died from severe brain injuries sustained in the crash, more than a week after the incident. A second victim, Priyanjana Das, survived but suffered injuries that permanently changed her life. Das lost her right arm to amputation and sustained multiple fractures to her left arm and pelvis.
The latest delay means the case remains unresolved more than four years after the collision. Edwards is represented by attorney Wendel Alexander. His trial is now set to begin on December 8.
