Gunshots fired at Cashew Hill residence shortly after midnight

Police are investigating a shooting that took place at a property on Joseph Road, Cashew Hill, at approximately 12:26 a.m. on Wednesday, September 23, antigua.news reports.

A female occupant inside the residence heard multiple gunshots coming from the eastern front section of the house. Investigators subsequently recovered spent shells both outside and inside the property.

Several police divisions responded to the scene, including officers from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), the Special Service Unit (SSU), Liberta Police Station, and St John's Police Station. Whether the home was deliberately targeted remains under investigation.

The incident is part of a series of violent events being examined by police this week. On Monday night, a 20-year-old woman was killed in a separate shooting, while a 13-year-old boy and a 24-year-old man were injured in the same incident. Both survivors remain hospitalised.

Two suspects have been detained in connection with Monday night's shooting, and a third is still being sought. Authorities have not confirmed whether the Cashew Hill incident is linked to that earlier attack. Inquiries into both cases are ongoing.
