Frederick Henry, a Golden Grove resident, has been sentenced to 18 years and six months in prison after admitting to shooting two people outside the Carlisle Bay Resort on April 11, 2023, antigua.news reports.

Henry pleaded guilty in June to multiple charges arising from the late-night attack at the Old Road resort. The sentencing concludes a case that has been before the courts for more than three years.

The court imposed 18 years and six months for the attempted murder of Morrisa Henry, and eight years for shooting with intent against male victim Dane Anthony. Henry also received four years for a firearm offence and 12 months for ammunition possession. All sentences run concurrently, placing his effective term at 18 years and six months.

The shooting took place shortly before midnight, at approximately 11:30 p.m., as Anthony and Morrisa Henry were walking toward the resort's gate after completing their work shifts. Police said both came under gunfire without warning.

Anthony sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Morrisa Henry was shot several times, with injuries to her arms and side. Both victims were transported to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, where they were treated in the Intensive Care Unit and the Surgical Ward before eventually being discharged.
