Two 38-year-old men from West St. Paul face a combined 23 firearms-related charges after Manitoba RCMP seized 13 guns and approximately 20,000 rounds of ammunition from a pair of homes in the rural municipality, cbc.ca reported Monday.

Officers searched a residence on Pipeline Road and a second on Griffin Way on Sept. 11. Among the weapons recovered were two sawed-off firearms and several high-capacity magazines that had been modified to hold additional ammunition.

The operation was triggered by a tip from the Canada Border Services Agency and executed by the Manitoba Integrated Law Enforcement Team, a unit that focuses on organized and serious crime across the province.

One of the men is charged with 12 firearms-related offences; the other faces 11. Both face charges that include two counts of possession of a weapon obtained by crime, two counts of possession of a firearm with a tampered serial number, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
