Loïc F. tried for harassment in Liège, already held for murder in Verviers
A 36-year-old man is appearing before the Liège appeal court for harassment and assault on his ex-partner, whom he is suspected of having killed her uncle in November 2025.

Defendant for harassment, suspected of murder: Loïc F. before Liège appeal court
Loïc F., 36, faces an additional 18 months in prison before the Liège appeal court for assault and harassment of his former partner. According to DHnet, he is already in preventive detention for the alleged murder of the uncle of this same woman, committed in Verviers in November 2025.
An uncle killed defending his niece
The murder occurred in November 2025, on the Quai de la Batte in Verviers. Loïc F. is said to have attacked his ex-partner again when her uncle, Jean-Pierre, 75 years old, intervened to defend her. The man allegedly beat the septuagenarian repeatedly until causing his death.
The autopsy established that the victim had received very numerous blows to the body, including four particularly violent ones to the head, which caused his death. Loïc F. stated that he had consumed a large amount of alcohol that day and could not recall the events precisely. He was charged with murder and placed under arrest warrant.
A two-month relationship with lasting consequences
The couple had a relationship lasting two months in 2022. After each separation, Loïc F. resumed contact with the young woman. He would appear at her residence, throw stones at the windows, tamper with the letterbox, had removed the doorbell and harassed her by telephone. The victim indicated that she had been struck on several occasions.
On 20 June 2023, she filed an initial complaint—the first of a long series. On 27 July 2023, a further complaint followed: her ex was contacting her up to 15 times per day, circumventing each block on different communication channels.
Home intrusion and death threats
On 18 July 2023, Loïc F. took advantage of a delivery arriving to break into his ex-partner's home and refused to leave. He slapped her and struck her in the genital area. He then allegedly struck himself on the back and chest with a knife before falling asleep on the premises.
He is said to have insulted her and threatened to kill her. He is also said to have made threats against his own son and that of the victim. When questioned by authorities, he attempted to justify each of his behaviours, claiming to be in a relationship with another person since 6 August 2023.
Despite these statements, his ex-partner continued to observe him loitering near her residence. The individual's best friend moreover informed her that he had threatened to take his own life. These harassing behaviours continued for several months. Before the criminal court, Loïc F. nevertheless denied them, in contradiction with the messages he himself sent to the victim.
Serious criminal record
In February 2022, Loïc F. had already been sentenced to four years in prison with probationary suspension for rape, indecent assault, harassment, assault and battery.
His lawyers, Mes Cochard and Henrichmann, considered that the facts were part of a toxic relationship and pleaded for absorption of the sentence.
