Two workers were robbed of 1,030,000 bolivianos at a traffic light on the second ring of Santa Cruz by four hooded men who fired shots at their vehicle.

A group of four hooded men carried out a major robbery in the afternoon in Santa Cruz de la Sierra. The victims were two employees who were carrying a considerable sum of cash.
The incident took place at around 13:00 on Tuesday 30 June at an intersection on the second ring, near the Cotoca canal. The red car in which the women were travelling stopped at a traffic light, a moment which the criminals exploited to act.
Minutes before, one of the employees had withdrawn 1,030,000 bolivianos from a bank branch on the central Charcas street. She walked a couple of blocks to meet her colleague, who was waiting for her inside the car. The destination was the head office of a company specialising in international transfers, located on Mutualista avenue.
When they came to a stop at the intersection, the women were surprised by the four criminals, who approached on two motorcycles—one dark and one white with a sporting appearance. The attackers fired at least two shots at the vehicle's bodywork, broke one of the windows and, after threatening the occupants with an order not to move, snatched the rucksack containing the cash.
The interior of the vehicle was filled with smoke from the shots, which forced the workers to get out of it. The thieves quickly abandoned the scene on their motorcycles.
Police authorities deployed search operations in the area and gathered information from the financial institution where the money was withdrawn. They are also analysing video surveillance records from various parts of the city in order to identify those responsible.
