Argentine consultant Fernando Cerimedo sold his remaining stake in the libertarian media outlet after being detained in Santa Cruz de la Sierra over an attack against his ex-partner.

Cerimedo transfers 50% of La Derecha Diario to Negre from his cell in Bolivia

Share transfer formalised days after arrest in Bolivia

According to airesfm.com.ar, Fernando Cerimedo sold the remaining 50% of La Derecha Diario to Spanish businessman Javier Negre, who becomes the sole owner of the libertarian media outlet. The transaction was formalised on Friday 21 August through the signature of Cerimedo's legal representative, several days after Bolivian police detained him in Santa Cruz de la Sierra.

The parties maintain that a verbal agreement existed since early 2026, and that the proposal was accepted verbally before the arrest. However, technical records of the website domain contradict that version: Cerimedo was listed as the site's owner until Saturday 22 August, one day after the formal signing.

Cerimedo had already ceded half of his stake to Right News Media in 2024, retaining since then 49% ownership of the Argentine subsidiary. Those around him assert that he exercised no daily management functions or operational oversight at the outlet.

The outlet seeks to distance itself from the scandal

Following the completion of the transfer, La Derecha Diario issued a statement asserting that Cerimedo was never a founder or executive of the portal. The claim contrasts with previous statements by Negre himself, who had presented him publicly as his "partner" weeks before the arrest.

Nadia Beller, the alleged victim and Cerimedo's ex-partner, stated for her part that the share transfer forms part of an asset liquidation linked to divorce proceedings between the two of them.

Preventive detention and political weight of the case

Cerimedo faces 180 days of preventive detention in Santa Cruz de la Sierra whilst Bolivian justice investigates his intellectual authorship in the armed attack against Beller. The consultant was a central figure in Javier Milei's 2023 presidential campaign, which amplified the political impact of the case on an international scale.

Both La Derecha Diario and the Casa Rosada seek to distance themselves from his figure. The share disposal represents, in that context, the formal severance of the corporate tie between Cerimedo and the outlet that helped project him.
