Cerimedo transferred his stake in La Derecha Diario while already imprisoned in Bolivia
Argentine consultant Fernando Cerimedo signed the transfer of his 50 per cent stake in the news portal three days after being detained in Bolivia on attempted feminicide charges.

Fernando Cerimedo transferred the 50 per cent stake he held in La Derecha Diario to his business partner Javier Negre on Friday, 21 August, three days after his detention in Bolivia, according to agencianova.com. With that transaction, Negre came to control the entire right-wing news portal.
Negre stated that negotiations had begun in early 2026 and that Cerimedo's departure was unrelated to the legal proceedings. According to his account, the consultant called him from Santa Cruz de la Sierra airport, minutes before being detained, to inform him that he accepted the offer presented months earlier.
The Spanish businessman said that a verbal agreement was reached at that time, but that the detention delayed the formal procedures. The severance was only formalised in writing when Cerimedo was already deprived of his liberty in Palmasola prison.
After news of the transaction became public, Negre sought to reduce his former partner's prominence in the media outlet's history and contended that Cerimedo had no direct involvement in management, editorial decisions, executive positions or the portal's social media accounts. According to that interpretation, his participation was primarily financial.
However, the public link between the two had recent records. On 27 December 2025, Negre published a photograph alongside the consultant with the following message: "Celebrating with my partner Fernando Cerimedo a year of electoral victories and brutal growth of La Derecha Diario".
Cerimedo had been linked for years to the media outlet's regional expansion. His profile gained prominence for having been part of the digital strategy of Javier Milei's 2023 presidential campaign and for subsequent political work in other countries across Latin America.
He is currently serving 180 days of preventive detention in Palmasola, Santa Cruz de la Sierra. The Bolivian Public Prosecutor's Office is investigating him for the alleged crime of attempted feminicide against his former partner Nadia Beller, who survived an armed attack. His defence rejects the accusation and maintains that the proceedings are the result of a political manoeuvre.
The transfer formally removed Cerimedo's name from the corporate structure and left Negre as the sole owner of the portal.
