Ex-partner of Cerimedo cited as witness in illicit enrichment case in La Paz
La Paz prosecutors summoned Nadia Beller as a witness against Fernando Cerimedo, detained since August in Palmasola. The Argentine faces three criminal proceedings in Bolivia.
Nadia Beller to testify against Cerimedo for illicit enrichment
The La Paz Departmental Prosecutors' Office issued a summons for Nadia Beller, lawyer and ex-partner of Argentine political strategist Fernando Cerimedo, to appear this Wednesday at 16:30 as a witness. According to El Deber's reporting, the proceeding corresponds to a case involving alleged illicit enrichment of individuals with harm to the State.
Cerimedo, known as a political operator of the new Latin American right, advised Bolivian president Rodrigo Paz and in 2023 participated in positioning Javier Milei in Argentina. Since 18 August he has been in Palmasola prison, where he is serving preventive detention of 180 days.
The Argentine citizen is also the founder of the website La Derecha Diario. During a search of his residence in La Paz, prosecutors found more than 40,000 dollars in cash, a fact that led to the investigation for illicit enrichment.
Beller, who was Cerimedo's partner, survived a shooting attack carried out by two hired killers. From the hospital, she reported him for corruption. She is the first witness called to testify against him.
Cerimedo faces three judicial proceedings in Bolivia: one for money laundering, a second for attempted femicide against Beller, and a third for domestic and family violence also related to her.
