Bolivian authorities are investigating an alleged case of infanticide in the department of Santa Cruz. The victim was a baby girl approximately ten days old, and the main suspect is her own father, who was placed in custody.
According to preliminary information, the child's aunt was the one who reported the disappearance of the newborn, which made it possible to discover the crime. Following the report, authorities identified the father as the alleged perpetrator of the homicide.
A multidisciplinary team made up of police officers and representatives from the Public Prosecutor's Office travelled to a remote area at the far end of G77 + China, the location where the baby's body was allegedly buried. The detainee accompanied the investigators during the legal recovery of the corpse.
The case is currently in the investigation stage by the competent authorities.
