Hearing suspended in 32-suitcase case: Rojas pledges to cooperate

The court under judge Albania Caballero suspended on Friday the hearing to review precautionary measures for Laura Rojas, former president of the Santa Cruz Parliamentary Brigade. According to El Deber, the proceedings could not be convened due to the absence of the Public Ministry representative.

Rojas is under investigation for the irregular entry of 32 suitcases at Viru Viru airport. Judge Caballero had called the former parliamentarian to verify compliance with the conditions of her 24-hour house arrest.

Upon leaving the court, Rojas expressed her frustration with the judicial situation and declared herself a victim of what occurred. "I know changes are coming to justice that give me confidence that my truth will finally be known, when I and my family have protection," she told El Deber.

The former parliamentarian further noted that she will not continue tolerating her situation out of fear and reaffirmed her willingness to appear whenever summoned. "I will not continue suffering this situation out of fear. I am willing to cooperate with everything that is necessary," she stated.

Rojas lamented that the precautionary measure prevents her from working, though she insisted she has complied with it strictly since it was imposed.
