Couple arrested for stabbing man to death in Bajo Llojeta
A 45-year-old man was killed by knife attack inside a residence in the Bajo Llojeta sector of La Paz. The crime occurred on 21 September and authorities already have two suspects in custody.
Colonel Willy Paz, who serves as deputy commander of the uniformed forces in the seat of government, explained how events unfolded. The deceased was the owner of the property and was at that moment spending time with a couple he had invited. During the gathering, where strong drinks were being consumed, a quarrel broke out originating from feelings of possession. In the midst of the altercation, one of the guests grabbed a kitchen utensil and stabbed the host five times.
The injuries affected the right thigh and the chest. The massive loss of blood caused circulatory collapse that cost him his life. After the attack, the alleged murderer and his companion took the corpse to a hospital, but the physicians could do nothing: the body no longer had a pulse.
Both were imprisoned. A hearing will soon be held to determine whether they remain deprived of liberty whilst the case proceeds. The Public Ministry attributes to them the offences of homicide and complicity in the same.
