Two inmates at the Villa Busch penal facility were beaten by a group of 20 prisoners and are hospitalised with serious injuries to the head and body.

Two inmates at the Villa Busch penal facility in the Pando department were assaulted by approximately 20 prisoners from the same facility, according to El Deber. The exact circumstances of the incident remain under investigation.
Carlos Pardo, director of the Special Force to Combat Crime (Felcc) in Pando, told Bolivia TV that the attackers "would be from another cellblock and would have moved into the general population sector". The two victims claim that the attack had no justification and that they were engaged in motorcycle theft.
According to Pardo, one of the inmates responsible for discipline at the penal facility allegedly deceived the two victims and led them to a sector of burnt-out cells, where the assault took place. "The two have considerable injuries to the head and across their entire body, which appear to have been inflicted with sticks," the police chief stated.
Both inmates are receiving medical care at Roberto Galindo Hospital in Cobija. The case is already known to the Public Ministry, which is working to identify the attackers.
