Couple arrested after robbing pharmacy in west São Paulo
A man and a woman were detained after robbing a pharmacy in the Itaim-Bibi neighbourhood, in the western region of São Paulo's city centre. The robbery took place during the early hours of the morning and targeted slimming pens valued at approximately R$ 209,000. Security footage recorded the entire incident, including the moment when the suspects surrendered to police officers.
The two criminals arrived at the establishment posing as customers. During the crime, they intimidated employees who were on the premises. In addition to the slimming medications, they also attempted to take money kept in the shop's safe.
During the police approach, officers found a firearm on one of the suspects. The vehicle used for the getaway had tampered number plates, and police seized ammunition from inside it. All stolen products were recovered and returned to the pharmacy. The pair was taken to a police station for legal proceedings.
