As reported by g1.globo.com, a man and a woman were arrested on Thursday (31st) in Belém, Pará, on suspicion of acquiring injectable anabolics using forged medical prescriptions. The two were purchasing the medicines over the internet and collecting them from a pharmacy located in the Pedreira district.

According to the Civil Police, the couple used doctors' stamps to forge the documents required for purchase. The healthcare professionals whose details were used were completely unaware of the situation. The investigation began after a gynaecologist discovered that the suspects were using her stamp to purchase the anabolics, having filed a formal complaint at the Pedreira Police Station.

The arrest occurred at the exact moment the two were purchasing more medicines. Various boxes and ampoules were seized and sent for forensic analysis.

The chief delegate of the Civil Police of Pará, Walter Resende, indicated that the defendants will be charged with falsification of private documents, use of forged documents, possession of forged therapeutic or medicinal products without registration with the health surveillance authority, and negligent receiving of stolen motorcycles.
