A building located in the Paraisópolis community, in the southern region of the São Paulo capital, was identified as a point of manufacture and commercialisation of narcotics, according to Folha de S.Paulo.
During an operation carried out on the night of Tuesday (7), officers from the São Paulo Military Police located an AK-47 rifle inside the building, a model of weapon with high firepower. The equipment was accompanied by a spiral-shaped magazine, already loaded, which allows for a greater number of projectiles, as well as other traditional magazines also full of ammunition.
The property contained three distinct areas destined for different phases of the drug trafficking chain. In one of them, a kind of refinery operated, where there was a significant quantity of cocaine already mixed and ready for the final finishing processes, alongside various instruments employed in the preparation of the substance.
In another part of the building, officers collected blocks of cocaine base paste and packaging used to package the product. The third area, hidden behind a plasterboard ceiling, housed the war weapons.
According to police, the organisation of the location indicated that the building operated as a complete criminal industry, bringing together several stages of drug production and distribution in a single space.
There were also discovered signs that the location served to test the narcotics, possibly functioning as a kind of showroom before sale at retail.
The property was cordoned off for forensic examination and the case was registered at the 89th Police District.
