26-year-old man detained on suspicion of killing newborn son in SP
A 26-year-old man was taken into police custody, in flagrante, accused of taking the life of his own son, a three-month-old infant. The tragic episode occurred in the residence he shared with the child's mother, in São Paulo state, according to a report by Record/R7.
In the hours preceding the outcome, the individual — identified as Wallace — was carrying the young Miguel in his arms, moving from one room to another. Subsequently, he told his partner that the infant was resting in the bedroom. When the woman went to check, however, the crib was empty.
The horrific outcome was revealed when the mother found the child's body already showing no vital signs in an external area of the residence. Immediately afterwards, the suspect tried to escape through the gate, but was apprehended and immobilised by public security officers.
The coldness displayed by the man in light of the situation shocked family members and neighbourhood residents. Investigators point out that he had a history of intimidation against his partner and that, this time, he would have punished the woman through their son, in an act of retaliation.
The motivation, according to police authorities, would be linked to disputes involving the ex-partner and her new partner. The inquiry continues in order to clarify all the details of the homicide.
