Military police arrested a man and seized several firearms in a rural area of Catanduva, a city in the interior of São Paulo, during the night of Friday (10). The discovery occurred after a woman who was a victim of domestic violence requested help.
With permission from the woman, the officers conducted a search of the residence and found eleven long guns, including rifles and carbines. One of these weapons had its identification number altered. An air rifle was also found at the property.
The detainee was not present at the time of the search, but was subsequently approached by police when he returned to the property. He was taken into custody and the weapons were taken by the security forces.
