A 38-year-old woman was taken into custody in Mogi das Cruzes, in the São Paulo metropolitan region, after calling the Military Police to report assaults suffered at the hands of her partner. During verification of data in the system, the officers ascertained that the complainant herself had an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the Justice system of Sergipe.
The incident occurred on the 10th, in the Parque São Martinho neighbourhood. The police team was called to attend to the domestic violence report. Upon arriving at the address, the officers noticed that the man had fled into a forested area. A cordon was set up with ground searches and aerial support from the Águia helicopter, but the suspect was not found.
When filing the report and checking the systems, the police discovered that the woman had been a fugitive since 2018. She was then taken to the local Judicial Police.
As established, the complainant and her partner are jointly responding to a case for simple homicide, aggravated homicide and attempted homicide in the state of Sergipe. The legal action has been in progress for seven years.
