The man, who was serving a prison sentence in Uruguay for drug trafficking, also had an Interpol red notice against him and has multiple criminal records in the country for drug trafficking, arms trafficking and theft.

According to the investigation, the extradited individual was in charge of a weapons and drugs depot in the city of Chuy, in the department of Rocha, between December 2017 and July 2018. The depot was operated as part of the criminal organisation to which he belonged.

Brazilian Police identify him as a member of the Primeiro Comando da Fronteira (PCF), a criminal organisation with regional reach. The man also allegedly acted as a drug mule, transporting drugs, and participated in attacks against a rival organisation in the dispute for control of drug trafficking in the border zone.
