Federal Police mobilises 15 states in mega-operation against trafficking, money laundering and cargo theft

The Federal Police launched Operation Integrated Force III on Wednesday (8th), a simultaneous national offensive against organised crime across 15 states. According to Google News BR — Crime, the mobilisation brings together the Integrated Forces to Combat Organised Crime (FICCOs) and totals 273 judicial warrants in all.

Agents are executing 180 search and seizure warrants and 93 arrest warrants in states such as São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Bahia, Pará and Paraná. The courts have also ordered asset freezes and seizures across different fronts of the operation.

The FICCOs bring together the Federal Police, civil, military and penal police, the Federal Highway Police, municipal guard forces and state public security secretaries. The targets of investigations include criminal organisations, drug and weapons trafficking, money laundering and cargo theft.

Actions by state

In Pará, Operation Coalition - COP VIII executes 32 preventative arrest warrants and 32 search and seizure warrants against members of a criminal organisation.

In Paraíba, Operation Consigliere carries out 46 search and seizure warrants and 13 preventative arrests in an investigation into organised crime, drug trafficking and capital laundering. The operation also extends to Mato Grosso do Sul and São Paulo.

Beef cattle theft in São Paulo and Paraná

In São Paulo and Paraná, Operation Argenti Lardum — conducted jointly by the Federal Police and the Special Operations Group to Combat Organised Crime (Gaeco) of the Public Ministry of São Paulo (MPSP) — executes 10 arrest warrants and 10 search and seizure warrants.

The group is suspected of being part of an organisation specialised in theft, robbery and receipt of beef cattle cargo, according to investigators. The MPSP also points to the involvement of members known as "lombadores", responsible for the storage, dividing and preparation of meat for resale to receivers. In some cases, the commercialisation occurred with the use of false invoices.
